The Kanler-332 system, colloquially known as the Maxin System, is the system housing Maxin (also known as Kanler-332b), a gas giant, and it's two orbiting moons. While the gas giant is fairly unremarkable, the two moons orbiting it house Luna-Town and Lanchester City (also known as Kanler-332b II and II-B, respectively), the former being the capital of the Colonial League and the latter being its industrial core.

A Zohil Admiral assigned to Operation NanoColonies saw Maxim as the perfect place for a FOB for the project, and as such Luna-Town was terraformed first as a base for the colonization attempt, and Lanchester City was established as a industrial base to produce resources for the NanoColonies project. During the republics withdraw from the frontier, Luna-Town was the last area to be withdrawn, and became the base for the First Fleet. After Lanchester City's withdraw, the residents almost immediately kicked out Zohil's representatives and set up an emergency council which still exists to this day.

The Kanler-332 system, colloquially known as the Maxin System, is the system housing Maxin (also known as Kanler-332b), a gas giant, and it's two orbiting moons. While the gas giant is fairly unremarkable, the two moons orbiting it house Luna-Town and Lanchester City (also known as Kanler-332b II and II-B, respectively), the former being the capital of the Confederated League and the latter being its industrial core.

Notable Locations

Kanler-332a

Kanler-332a is a Class F star discovered by very important scientists centuries ago and largely ignored until interest shifted back to the Frontier. It's color is white, not much else to say about it.

Maxin

Maxin is a reddish gas giant with white streaks across the equator. In the middle of the white streaks is a cyclone that has presumably gone on for thousands of years, and will likely not stop in the near future. It's massive magnetic field shields most of it's moons from radiation,

Luna-Town

The very heart of the Confederated League. Luna-Town is a very influential player in CLIP politics, and its newer districts extremely formal and modern, reminiscent of any modern space cosmopolis.

Around the core districts are the less developed areas and are generally poorer than the main areas, but not to an extreme level. These areas often are home to essential job for the planet itself, but less prestigious than politics, such as environmental upkeep, farming, power plants, and the like.

Lanchester City

Lanchester City is an extremely industrialized planet, resembling a vertical metropolis. It's home to the headquarters of MELD and an unmatched industrial manufacturing power in the entire frontier.

Culture

Luna-Town

Luna-Town's culture is generally quite entangled with the league, residents usually seeing themselves as role models for the rest of the League. These usually manifest themself a formlessness that isn't quite 'proper', but not rude either. under this facade however, lie Luna-Town's lively and almost wild night life. There are various underground bars and clubs that are almost hidden in the daylight, but then come alive during the nightime and are notably busy places. Scandals about politicians being party animals are not uncommon, but these are generally more noticeable outside of Luna where many are not very aware of Luna's night life, while local resisdents often go, "You didn't know?"

About a quarter of the year is dedicated to vacation time for most workers living here, who either spend it back at home or travel to Lanchester City for that time, which residents of Lanchester then travel to Luna-Town due to their close proximity to each other. Both sets of people look out of place, but has become a popular cultural icon of both planets.

Lanchester City

Lanchester unlike Luna-town was just barely terraformed to support breathable air, so the air is usually cold year throughout the planet. The city itself however is quite comfortably cool due to radiating air from the buildings. Along with this, the rest of the planet is undeveloped, meaning most people live in the city outside of small companies attempting to avoid spaceport costs.

Lanchester City has no night life to speak of, as most 'night life' activities are generally run all day, which leads to a rather mellow night life to speak of.

Politically, Lanchester City is run by a single-party system formed a century ago after replacing kicking out the leaders from the URFZ during the Explorat-Militia conflict. This was intended as a temporary emergency council that never dissolved after the crisis was over. This council hasn't made any wildly unpopular moves yet, likely as CLIP would retaliate heavily if they were, likely losing their power. Most of the goods Lanchester City is unable to produce are imported from Luna-Town, and vice versa.

History

A Zohil Admiral assigned to Operation NanoColonies saw Maxim as the perfect place for a FOB for the project, and as such Luna-Town was terraformed first as a base for the colonization attempt, and Lanchester City was established as a industrial base to produce resources for the NanoColonies project. During the republics withdraw from the frontier, Luna-Town was the last area to be withdrawn, and became the base for the First Fleet. After Lanchester City's withdraw, the residents almost immediately kicked out Zohil's representatives and set up an emergency council which still exists to this day.

Relations

See the Confederated League of Independent Planets page but with one exception. - Lanchester City has a rivalry with the recently integrated Clover due to both of them being industrial planets. This 'rivally' is usually one sided, with Lanchester residents usually haivng this view, while Clover residents often aren't aware of it.
