''An earlier product produced by Nanotrasen shipyards, the Dwayne-class was originally a dedicated shuttle carrier intended as a replacement for expensive planet or asteroid-side mining installations. However, due to the project running into endless logistics issues their companion blue-space shuttles never got delivered. Looking to salvage what they could from the large number of hulls they had ready Nanotransen sold the vast majority of these hulls to the civilian market where enterprising captains quickly converted them into small mining ships with generous cargo bays. It is often said on the frontier that you can identify a captain by his Dwayne as no two ships look alike.''
==Gameplay==
The Dwayne class is a good generalist ship designed around mining. It comes with an equipped med-bay and a LOT of space to work with. It is also notable as one of the few ships that are pretty much self-sufficient off the bat coming with a fully functioning solar array and external airlocks off both sides and back allowing the Dwayne to easily access deposits around it wherever it lands, this in combination with the ships free space for loot and building makes the Dwayne both a miners and engineers dream.

The Dwayne is likely one the few ships with long term power off the bat. Your solar arrays and generators means you won't likely need to rush to build more power, enabling you to pursue whatever goals you desire. This means you can take things easy at the start and get straight to mining. Whilst your basic needs are taken care of you may want to consider getting enough resources to trade for an RnD unit so you can start your own research or some food so you don't have to eat out of vending machines.
* Three '''Flaming Arrow''' rifles and a '''Detective special revolver''' - enough weaponry to arm majority of the crew roundstart.

* A large amount of '''mining gear''', including handheld drills, scanners, EVA suits and more.

* Mining - Dwayne's intended purpose is mining. You'll do it either directly with handheld drills or by investing in a stationary drill. You can also take drilling jobs from the outpost for some bonus cash. As of right now however, ore holds mostly roleplay value, as it's not used for much outside of fuel.
* Cargo - Dwayne has plenty of storage space. This lets you get a little wild with organization of ruin loot and other gear, or maybe even make an entire gimmick around performing cargo work!
* Construction - That storage space can also be easily renovated, if not used for cargo. You can put anything you want there!

Description

The Dwayne is one of the older classes of ships commonly seen on the Frontier, and one of the few such classes that doesn’t also carry a reputation for nightmarish conditions or high accident rates. Originally conceived of as a “mothership” for Nanotrasen mining shuttles that could enable long-duration mining missions at minimal cost, severe budget overruns and issues with the mining shuttle docking system left Nanotrasen with a massive number of mostly-completed hulls upon the project’s cancellation. These hulls were then quickly refurbished and sold on the civilian market, where they proved an immediate success on the Frontier. Contemporary Dwaynes can typically be found carrying a variety of mining equipment and extensive modifications unique to their captains.
